[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]At AA Marble & Granite, it’s very important to us that potential clients know exactly what they’re getting and how they’re getting it before the contract is signed. In our pursuit of total transparency, we’ve created a basic outline of what the average countertop fabrication and installation process looks like.
Preparation
Every great project starts with a great set of plans. The first step on your journey to new countertops is to contact our showroom at (770) 872-4066 for your free countertop design consultation; if you’re in the area or you prefer to speak face-to-face, feel free to schedule an appointment or just walk right in. During your consultation, our countertop design expert will ask you about the style and color scheme of the room you’re planning to have countertops installed in, the locations of common fixtures like sinks and appliances, and whether or not you have a plan for a backsplash. After your consultation, your design expert will offer to give you a tour of our showroom and inventory.
Before we start your project, we’ll sit down to review an itemized contract with you in detail; once the contract has been signed, we’ll schedule your template, layout, and installation dates. Exact times can vary based on season and your personal needs, but we can generally have your countertops installed and ready to use within ten business days.
Fabrication
This is the portion of your countertop project that many fabricators like to keep behind closed doors; as advocates for transparency in the countertop industry, we like for our clients to be involved in every step of the fabrication process. Your input is extremely important to us throughout the countertop fabrication and installation process.
- The first part of the fabrication process is the template appointment. On your template date, one of our expert mechanics will come to your home to create detailed templates of the countertops space; this process takes two to three hours and requires that the homeowner be present to answer design questions.
- After your template has been created, we’ll set up your slab layout; this process involved matching the template to the slab to determine which part of the stone face are used. We always invite clients to be present during layout to give their input on how their countertops will look.
Installation
The final step of your countertop project is the removal of the old surfaces and the installation of your new stone. This process generally takes the better part of a day; if it’s determined to be feasible, our installers will remove your old surfaces and install your new ones within the same day. We ask that everyone in the house keeps their distance from our installers during the process, for the safety of all involved; we also strongly advise that you schedule a plumber for the day after installation, to ensure that all fixtures are properly set up.
